As a designer and artist, my overall goal is to utilize my knowledge and tools provided to me from my backgrounds in graphic design, graphic art, and fine art, and apply them in a way that will positively impact the world around me. My passion for design is limitless, and my love for art will never expire.
My portfolio will introduce the ever-growing projects from my graphic design major, as well as a peek into my involvement
with fine art and videography.
GRAPHIC DESIGN
From UI/UX concepts, to book jackets and clothing tags, my portfolio contains a unique collection of graphic design work. A common theme in my designs is incorporating handmade or traditional elements into a digital concept.
Previous clients include 3 Daughters Brewing, Community Stepping Stones, and WIPA.
FINE ART
Still lives, abstraction, and surrealism are common themes present in many of my paintings and drawings. Experimentation with various types of media and concepts throughout my college career have yielded to polished pieces and an understanding of the tools of the trade.
GRAPHIC ART
When the utilities of graphic design and the aesthetics of artwork are combined, the result is my portfolio of purposeful & pleasing visuals that fall under the category of graphic art. These projects include digital collages, color edits, large-format wall graphics, and logos & signage.
VIDEO WORK
Whether it's in After Effects, or Premiere, my videos are crafted to entertain viewers with both exciting and humorous story-telling.
My personal and collaborative projects include stop-motion tales, music videos, and film title sequences.
ABOUT KARA
I'm a graphic designer and artisan of various handicrafts. Whether it is digital or in print, handmade elements are a staple in any project of mine. When I'm not painting or designing on my laptop, I experiment with jewelry crafting, fashion design, and culinary arts. In addition, my five years of architecture experience have also yielded to a knowledgeable influence of building art concepts in my creative style.
Favorite media: Adobe Creative Cloud, pen & ink, acrylic paint, watercolors, charcoal, india ink, cut paper, faux fur fabric, PVC vinyl, drafting vellum, and graphite.
